Killing of A Child By A Child Cont'd

12. Two 13 years old boys in Wolverhampton in UK, killed 19 years old Shawn Seesahal with a matchet and were sentenced to 8 years and 6 months imprisonment. The world has condemned the short prison sentences given to the two murderers in strong terms saying that it will surely encourage other intending young people to kill innocent people since they know too well that they will soon come out of prison to begin life again. 13. In 2006, a 13 years old girl named Alberta in Canada was found guilty of killing her 8 years old younger brother and parents. Why did she kill them? It was only because her parents did not allow her to have Jeremy Steinke, then 23 years old, as her friend. Both of them planned the attack on the family and wiped them off. Alberta killed her entire family members when she was not even sure that Jeremy Steike will marry her. 14. A boy of 14 years old was charged for the fatal shooting of Yusuf Tifow. 15. Murder of Reena Virk by Kelly Ellard. 16. Three boys, all aged under 14, at the time of commission of murder, were charged for the bullying of 13 years old classmate, Wang, over a long period before killing him in Hebei, China. Many young children are sentenced to death or life imprisonment at very tender age. Their parents failed to raise them up in the fear and admonition of God. Neither were they able to save them from death and imprisonment. Many of them are now in their 80's, and will still remain there till death if there is no parole. Since these children started committing murders at such tender age, the only reasonable solution available for Government is to remand them permanently in penal facilities in order to save lives of the citizenry. In fact, there are cases where some of them were released on probation, but they ended up committing even more heinous crimes than the first ones in violation of the probation. Lionel Alexander Tate is a case in point. He was released on probation but was re-arrested and sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for possession of pistol, which negated the probation. My questions are: 1. Do you think that those children who killed other children were brought up by good parents? 2. What if they themselves were killed by others? What would have been the reactions of their parents and families? 3. Do you think that the children who engage in murder are likely products of broken homes? 4. Do you think that the Governments of the countries and regions of the world are right to sentence some juvenile deliquents to deaths and others to life imprisonment? 5. Were there other punitive measures that their Governments should have adopted to punish them without killing or jailing them for life? Adam Smith said, " Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent." Terry Goodkind put it in his own way, thus, "Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent." Were they correct? Do you agree that murderers should be pardoned and allowed to move freely in the society? My answer to question number 4 above is that (a) The Governments of the countries and regions of the world recommend these penal measures to serve as deterrence to other intending culprits. (b) These measures are very necessary to protect the lives of law abiding citizens in the society. Both Adam Smith and Terry Goodkind were right in their postulations. This is because justice is the pillar which holds the society. If one murderer is pardoned and allowed to move freely like others, it will encourage others to do the same thing. By so doing, the society will sink into chaos! (c) It makes the offended family or party not to have access to the offender for revenge as such actions of vendetta can culminate into chaos and break down of law and order. To summarize, parents must make sure that their children do not engage into any action which will lead to murder directly or indirectly. Kindly share it with your friends and loved ones.
