There are Eight Fundamental Elements of Thinking and Nine Intellectual Standards. For an effective critical thinking and reasoning, we apply the Nine Intellectual Standards to the Eight Fundamental Elements of Thinking. The fundamental eight elements of thinking are: 1. Purpose: Why do we think? Why do we compare and contrast variable elements? Why do we dissect and analyze issues? It is all for a purpose. We are looking for goals and objectives. There was one youmg man of about 32 years old from my village. He stole his employer's brand new Peugeot 505 Evolution car in 1985. He was a driver to the CEO of a company based in Enugu, Nigeria. He lied to his boss that dare-devil armed robbers had snatched the newly bought car from him at a gun point. He brought the car to our village during the weekend; and parked it in front of his father's house. Contrary to his expectations, his father was sad when he saw the car. The killing of a child by another child is akin to a serially re-born monster which appears in all generations of the world. It is an occurrence that the global society frowns at. It makes our seated hearts to knock hard against our ribs. Homicides committed by children transcends logics and understandings that renowned criminologists are used to. All parents are advised to be having intimate discussions with their children. The easiest way of destroying a child is to far be from him/ her. Children hardly spoil when parents are near to them, instructing them on the right paths to follow. Parents should have private discussion with each child once in a while.
